This court vide order dated 15th December, 2021 directed S.P. (CBI), Bhubaneswar to serve notice on the Appellant Manamohan Rout. In response to the same the Head of Branch, CBI, ACB, Bhubaneswar sent a letter to the Court mentioning that in spite of several attempts made by the officers, present whereabouts of the Appellant could not be ascertained. Mr. S. Nayak, learned counsel for Republic of India confirms the said letter.

In such view of the matter since the CBI is unable to get the whereabouts of the Appellant and expressed their inability, the appeal is disposed of treating the same as abated.

The letter dated 12th January, 2022 of the CBI is formed part of the record.
