The writ petition has been filed by the petitioner with the following prayer:- "It is, therefore, prayed that this Hon'ble court may be graciously pleased to issue a Rule Nisi calling upon the opp. Parties to show cause as to why a writ of mandamus or certiorari or any other appropriate writ/ writs would not be issued by interfering with the candidature of the opp.party no.5 as well as the decision of the Hon'ble Chancellor dtd. 25.01.2010 as at Annexure-17 with regard to the post of Professor in Economics by non-consideration of the contentions raised by the petitioner and also the erroneous notification thereafter by the opp.party no.2 as Annexure-18;

Mr. Aditya Mishra, learned counsel for the petitioner has filed a memo stating that the writ petition has become infructuous due to efflux of time for which the petitioner does not want to press this application any further.
