1. This matter is taken up through virtual mode.

2. Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner and learned Addl. Standing Counsel for the State.

3. The Petitioner is in custody since 5th March, 2021 in connection with Tikayatpalli P.S.

Case No.14/2021 corresponding to G.R. Case No.138/2021 pending in the court of learned S.D.J.M., Bonai for the alleged commission of the offence under Sections 498-A/306/304(B)/34 of I.P.C. read with Section 4 of the D.P. Act.

4. It is alleged that the Petitioner, who is the father-in-law of the deceased subjected her to cruelty along with other family members in connection with demand for dowry. It is submitted that the deceased committed suicide by bolting the door from inside.

5. Learned Addl. Standing Counsel for the State has opposed the prayer for bail by submitting that several witnesses have clearly implicated the Petitioner and other family members and the post occurrence conduct of the Petitioner in fleeing from the spot is also significant.

6. Considering the submissions as above, the nature of accusations and the existence of materials, prima facie, in support thereof, I am not inclined to allow the prayer for bail, which is, therefore, rejected.

7. It is open to the Petitioner to renew his prayer after examination of the informant or other material witnesses. (Sashikanta Mishra) AKB Judge
