1. In this PIL, which complains of encroachment on Government land by the Opposite Parties Nos.3 to 6, notice was issued by the Court on 30th April, 2015. Thereafter, neither has counter affidavit been filed by the State nor have the Petitioners bothered to get the matter listed. Today, the matter has been listed in its own turn.
2. While the impression that the Court gathers is that the Petitioners are not really serious about the issue, the Court cannot ignore it, if the facts averred are true. Consequently, a direction is issued to the Collector, Jharsuguda (Opposite Party No.1) to examine the averments in this petition and the representations enclosed therewith and after issuing notices to the Petitioners as well as Opposite Parties Nos.3 to 6, and any other person who may in the meanwhile encroached on the government land in question, and after giving them all a hearing to pass a reasoned order issuing
appropriate directions in accordance with law, not later than 4th April, 2022. The said order be made available to the parties not later than 11th April, 2022.
3. The writ petition is disposed of in the above terms.
