This matter is taken up through hybrid arrangement (virtual/physical mode).

2. The petitioner is stated to have availed a loan of Rs.5,00,000/- from the Canara Bank, Puri for establishing a Readymade Garment Unit on the recommendations of the District Industries Centre, Puri under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (P.M.E.G.P.) seeking to promote self-employment. It is stated that initially a sum of Rs.2,37,500/- was released on 10th January, 2011 however the remaining balance was never released.

3. By filing the present Writ Petition, a prayer has been made for issuance of a mandamus to the Bank

// 2 // to disburse the remaining amount of Rs.2,62,500/- to run the Garment Unit.

4. It is borne out from the record that the notice was issued on 6th September, 2013 with no interim directions. On the previous date of hearing on 19th May, 2022, Mr. Padhi has sought an adjournment.

5. At the time of resumed hearing today after three months a similar prayer is being made which is extremely unfair and not accepted.

6. In view of the nature of the relief claimed and by efflux of nine years the petitioner having lost interest in pursuing the present Writ Petition, it can safely be construed that the Writ Petition has become infructuous.

7. In view of the above, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous.
