This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

Mr. Surendranath Panda placed the matter in person being identified by his learned counsel, Mr. Laxmi Narayan Rayatsingh.

The Petitioner has filed this writ petition with a prayer to direct the Tahasildar, Puri-Opposite Party No.1 to dispose of O.L.R. Case No.2377 of 1975 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four months.

From the submission made by Mr. Panda, the Petitioner, it appears that the Petitioner is fighting out his litigation since long. The matter has also travelled to the Hon'ble Supreme Court at the instance of the Petitioner in SLP (Civil) No.17940 of 2009, which was dismissed on 17th September, 2010 granting liberty to the Petitioner to raise such contention before the Revenue Officer-cum-Tahasildar, Puri. Although the Petitioner is trying his best to get the O.L.R. Case No.2377 of 1975

// 2 // disposed of but in vain. Thus, finding no other alternative, this writ petition has been filed.

Taking into consideration the submissions made by learned counsel for the Petitioner, this Court directed learned State Counsel to take instruction with regard to the status of O.L.R. Case No. 2377 of 1975 pending before the Tahasildar, Puri-Opposite Party No.1.

Mr. Mishra, learned Additional Standing Counsel, on written instruction received by him vide Letter No.2651 dated 24th March, 2022 submitted that the Tahasildar, Puri requires three months time to dispose of O.L.R. Case No. 2377 of 1975. 7.

Taking a lenient view in the matter, this Court disposes of this writ petition directing the Tahasildar, Puri-Opposite Party No.1 to dispose of O.L.R. Case No. 2377 of 1975 pending before him in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably by 31st May, 2022 giving opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned.

It is made clear that non-compliance of this order shall be construed to be contempt of this Court. The Petitioner is also directed to co-operate with the Tahasildar, Puri-Opposite Party No.1 for early disposal of O.L.R Case No. 2377 of 1975. Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
