The contempt petition has been filed for willful disobedience of the order dated 6th November, 2020 directing the Competent Authority to sanction the admissible amount of enhanced compensation awarded by the reference Court in an expeditious manner.

At the time of hearing, Mr. L. Samantaray, Additional Government Advocate states that the Director of Rehabilitation and Resettlement, Odisha has sanctioned the due amount and the same shall be released to the Petitioners by the Special Land Acquisition Officer, Upper Indravati Irrigation Project within next three weeks.

In view of the aforesaid statement, Counsel for the Petitioners does not press the present contempt. The contempt proceeding is dropped.
