ORDER

26.08.2022 Order No.

06.

This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

2.

Heard Mr. A.K. Mishra, learned Addl. Government Advocate.

3.

The State and its functionaries have filed this application challenging the order dated 22.02.2016 passed by the Odisha Administrative Tribunal, Bhubaneswar Bench, Bhubaneswar in O.A. No. 532 of 2014, by which the Tribunal has quashed the advertisement dated 12.07.2013 for the post of Revenue Inspector and directed to modify the advertisement for recruitment of the posts of RI, limiting reservation to 50% as per Section-7 of the ORV Act, 1975, within a period of three months. 4.

Mr. A.K. Mishra, learned Addl. Government Advocate contended that it is not related to year-wise vacancy, rather it relates to backlog vacancies in view of the amendment made to the Constitution in the year 2000, which has been placed on record under Annexure-3. It is contended that since direction was given to work out the order w.e.f. 22.2.2016, the said period has already been over and, as such, in the meantime six years have passed and

notice has not been issued in the case till date. Therefore, by efflux of time the writ petition has become infructuous. 5.

In view of the above submission, the writ petition is disposed of as infructuous.
