1.The subject matter of the present petition concerns the distribution of the waters of the Mahanadi River and its tributaries, between the States of Chattisgarh and Odisha. There is already an Inter-state Water Disputes Tribunal seized of the issue. The Tribunal is presently examining voluminous evidence involving complex technical aspects with the assistance of experts. Consequently, the Court does not consider it appropriate to have a parallel proceeding in the High Court.
