This matter is taken up through Hybrid arrangement (video conferencing/physical mode). Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned counsel for the State.

This is an application under section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners in connection with Purighat P.S. Case No.29 of 2022 corresponding to G.R. Case No.121 of 2022 pending in the Court of learned S.D.J.M. (S), Cuttack for alleged commission of offences under sections 341/354/294/ 506/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

// 2 // Learned counsel for the State on verification of the case diary submitted that petitioner nos.1 and 2 have got one criminal antecedent each and petitioner no.3 has three criminal antecedents and petitioner no.4 has four criminal antecedents.

In view of the available material on record particularly the criminal antecedents against the petitioners, while not inclining to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners, I direct that in the event the petitioners surrender and move for bail before the learned Court below within a period of four weeks from today, the same shall be disposed of by the Court below as expeditiously as possible in accordance with law.
