This matter is taken up through Hybrid arrangement (video conferencing/physical mode). Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State.
This is an application under section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in connection with Angul P.S. Case No.457 of 2020 corresponding to G.R. Case No.711 of 2020 pending in the Court of learned S.D.J.M., Angul for alleged commission of offences under sections 341/294/323/ 325/307/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code.
Learned counsel for the State on verification of the case diary submitted that the petitioner has got
// 2 // four criminal antecedents.
In view of available material on record particularly the criminal antecedents against the petitioner, while not inclining to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner, I direct that in the event the petitioner surrenders and moves for bail before the learned Court below within a period of four weeks from today, the same shall be disposed of by the Court below as expeditiously as possible in accordance with law. The case diary be made available before the Court concerned for disposal of the case.
The ABLAPL stands disposed of.
