Heard Mr. D. Chaterjee, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.

D.K.

Mohanty, learned Additional Government Advocate.

According to Mr. Chaterjee, the grievances of the petitioners in this case pertains to non-registration of their complaint dated 29.12.2021 under Annexure-4 as F.I.R. by I.I.C., Colliery Police Station, Talcher (opposite party no.3) though the same reveals commission of cognizable offences, which was sent through Registered Post on the same date. During course of hearing, he submits that liberty may be granted to the petitioners to approach the Superintendent of Police, Angul (opposite party no.1) and further prays that the said opposite party be directed to take a decision on such motion within a stipulated time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court

// 2 // grants liberty to the petitioner to approach the Superintendent of Police, Angul (opposite party no.1) by filing a grievance petition along with a certified copy of this order through Registered Post within a period of two weeks. In the event such grievance petition is filed before opposite party no.1, the said opposite party is directed to take a decision on the same in accordance with law keeping in the mind the decision of the Supreme Court in the case of Lalita Kumari v. Govt. of U.P. & Others reported in AIR 2014 SC 187 within a period of four weeks from the date of receiving of such grievance petition and communicate the results of such exercise to the petitioner no.1, who in turn share such result with petitioner no.2.

The CRLMP is accordingly disposed of.

Issue urgent certified copy of this order on proper application.
