This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement (Virtual/ Physical Mode).

Mr. S.S. Kanungo, learned Addl. Government Advocate, on instruction, has submitted that the victim has been rescued and, as she being a major, refused to stay with the parents, she is now staying with her uncle in terms of the direction passed by the concerned Court.

Despite that statement, Mr. S.K. Parida, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that the custody has not been restored to the petitioner.

We are constrained to observe that, when the abducted is major, she has every right to choose her place of staying. This Court cannot pass any lawful direction.
