Heard Mr. Behera, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Zafrulla, learned Additional Standing Counsel through video conferencing mode.

According to Mr. Behera, the petitioner is aggrieved by inaction of the authorities in recovering gold and silver ornaments from the house of the petitioner's husband in connection with Ranpur P.S. Case No. 179 of 2020 registered for commission of offences under Sections 498-A, 494/34 of the I.P.C. read with Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. He further submits that though highlighting all her grievances the petitioner has approached the Superintendent of Police, Nayagarh (opposite party No3) on 20.12.2021 under Annexure-4 by filing a grievance petition sent through registered post on 5.1.2022 but till date nothing has been done in the matter. In such background he prays that a direction be issued to opposite party No.3 to take a decision on the grievance petition under Annexure-4 within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Superintendent of Police, Nayagarh (opposite party No.3) to take a decision on the above grievance petition in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner.

Accordingly, this CRLMP is disposed of.

Urgent certified copy of the order be granted on proper application.
