1. This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.
2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State.
3. As directed, learned court below has submitted a report stating that trial has commenced, wherein two witnesses have been examined till date and further that the case is expected to be disposed of during 4th quarter, 2022.
4. Having regard to the fact that the trial is in progress as also taking into account the fact that the seized contraband is more than commercial quantity, I am not inclined to allow the prayer for bail, which is therefore, rejected. It is however open to the petitioner to renew his prayer for bail if trial is not concluded within the period stated by the court below.
5. BLAPL is accordingly rejected.
