Heard Mr.G.C.Swain, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. D.K.Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel. 3.

According to Mr.Swain the petitioners are aggrieved by inaction of the authorities more particularly General Manager, Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited (opposite party No.3) in providing them the benefits under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 read with Orissa Rehabilitation and Resettlement Policy, 2006 though they are entitled to the same. He further submits that the petitioners are specifically aggrieved by the inaction of the authorities in releasing the compensation and providing employment to the eligible wards of the petitioners who according to him are entitled to such benefits under the above noted Act & Policy. He further submits that though highlighting all their

// 2 // grievances, the petitioners have approached the General Manager, Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited (opposite party No.3) by filing a representation dated 7.10.2020 vide Annexure-2 sent through registered post on 8.10.2020, however, no decision has yet been taken on the same. In such background, he prays that a direction be issued to opposite party No.3 to take a decision on the above noted representation within a specific time period. 4.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the General Manager, Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited (opposite party No.3) to take a decision on the above noted representation under Annexure-2 in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioners. 5.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. 6.

Urgent certified copy of the order be granted on proper application.
