This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioners.

3. The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking to quash the proceedings of the Departmental Promotion Committee under Annexure-3 series so far it relates to the juniors to them and they further seeks direction to the opposite parties to promote them to the rank of revenue Inspectors and grant all financial and consequential benefits flowing from the date of promotion.

4. In course of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioners stated that the petitioners may be permitted to move a fresh representation highlighting their grievances before opposite party no.2, so that the same can be considered in accordance with law keeping in view the ratio decided by the apex Court in R.K. Sabharwal v. State of

Punjab, AIR 1995 SC 1371 within a stipulated period, to which learned State Counsel has no objection.

5. As agreed by learned counsel for the parties, this Court directs the petitioners to file a fresh representation within a period of two weeks from today highlighting their grievances before opposite party no.2. In the event the petitioners file such representation along with this order, opposite party no.2 shall consider and pass appropriate order keeping in view the ratio decided by the apex Court in R.K. Sabharwal (supra) within a period of two months thereafter.

6. With the aforesaid observation and direction, the writ petition is disposed of.

Issue urgent certified copy as per rules.
