This matter is taken up through virtual/physical mode. 1.

The Petitioners have filed this Contempt Petition against the Opposite Party for not complying the order dated 14.05.2019 passed by this Court in W.P.(C) No.8750 of 2019.

The brief facts of the case are that the present Petitioners had preferred a Writ Petition bearing W.P.(C) No.8750 of 2019 seeking a direction from

// 2 // this Court to release the amount awarded in favour of them under Section 18 (1) of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 but stalled due to the inaction of the Director (R&R)-cum-Additional Secretary to Government of Odisha, Water Resources Department.

This Court vide order dated 14.05.2019 directed the Opposite Party to take necessary action on the representation filed by the Petitioners within a period of three months.

Due to non-compliance of the order dated 14.05.2019, this Contempt Petition has been filed by the Petitioners.

During the course of the hearing, learned counsel for the Opposite Party submitted a Letter numbered WR-LA-LAND-0257-2018-3005 dated 14.07.2020 issued by the Director (R&R) & ExOfficio Addl. Secretary to Government, Department of Water Resources wherein it is mentioned that the awarded amount has been provided to the Petitioners in compliance of the order dated 14.05.2019 passed by this Court.

In view of the above letter, learned counsel for both the parties concede that the order dated 14.05.2019 has been complied with.

In view of the above, the CONTC is dismissed as infructuous.
