This matter is taken up through video conferencing mode. 2.

Heard Mr. Choudhury, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Zafarulla, learned Additional Standing Counsel. 3.

At the outset, on oral prayer, Mr. Choudhury is permitted to correct the description of opposite party No.2 in the cause title in Court today.

According to Mr. Choudhury, the petitioner, who is a lady as well as a senior citizen and suffers from Locomotor disability, has come before this Court alleging inaction of the police in carrying out investigation in connection with Kasinagar P.S. Case No.18 dated 03.02.2022 registered for commission of offences under Sections 465/379/506/34 of I.P.C. During course of hearing, he submits that though highlighting all her grievances, the petitioner has approached the Superintendent of Police, Gajapati at Parlakhemundi (opposite party No.2) by filing a grievance petition on 15.02.2022 vide Annexure-4 sent through registered post, however, till date nothing has been

// 2 // done in the matter. In such background, he prays that a direction be issued to the Superintendent of Police, Gajapati to take a decision on the grievance petition of the petitioner within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Superintendent of Police, Gajapati to take a decision on the grievance petition dated 15.02.2022 of the petitioner under Annexure-4 in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order, if in the meantime, the same has not been disposed of and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner. 6.

Accordingly, this CRLMP is disposed of.

Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
