Heard Mr. S.K. Bhanjadeo, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. D.K. Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel.

According to Mr. Bhanjadeo, the petitioners are aggrieved by the illegal action of the Block Development Officer, Khurda in issuing work orders in favour of opposite party Nos.6 to 8 for doing pisiculture at six village ponds falling under mouzaKumbhila under Khurda Tahasil. He further submits that though highlighting all their grievances, the petitioners have approached the Collector, Khurda (opposite party No.2) on 30.11.2021 by filing a grievance petition under Annexure-3 series which was sent through registered post on the same day however, till date nothing has been done in the matter. In such background, he prays that that a direction be issued to the Collector Khurda to take a decision on the above noted grievance petition within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without

// 2 // expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Collector, Khurda (opposite party No.2) to take a decision on the above noted grievance petition of the petitioner under Annexure-3 series in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order after giving reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioners as well as opposite party Nos.6 to 8. 4.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. 5.

Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application in course of the day.
