Heard learned counsel for the Parties.

The Petitioner, who is an elected Panchayat Samiti Member of Subalaya Gram Panchayat, apprehending danger to her life even facing difficulty having her right to vote in the election for the post of Chairperson of the Samiti has made a complain to the Superintendent of Police, O.P.2 by Registered Post on 5.3.2022. Filing the Writ Petition, it is alleged, instead of such complain made in due time, there is no arrangement to secure the Petitioner for casting vote.

Considering the serious grievance made, this Court directs the Superintendent of Police, O.P.2 to look into the grievance of the Petitioner and if necessary, provide necessary protection to the

// 2 // Petitioner in exercising her right to vote for the Chairperson of the Panchayat Samiti being an elected Member of the Panchayat Samiti. 4.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of.

The Superintendent of Police, O.P.2 is also directed to act on the instruction of the learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State, as grant of copy of this order may take some time. 6.

Issue urgent certified copy in course of the day. 7.

A free copy of this order be supplied to the learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State as well as Mr.B.Routray, learned Sr.Advocate.
