This matter is taken up through video conferencing mode. 2.

Heard Mr. A.K.Jena, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. H.M.Dhal, learned Additional Government Advocate. 3.

According to Mr. Jena, the petitioner who is 93 years old is aggrieved by the inaction of the authorities in paying the compensation amount to her in respect of land acquired by the authorities which stood in the name of Narayan Sahu, Dasarathi Sahu and the present petitioner-all being the children of one Madan Sahu of village Nijagaon in the district of Nayagarh. In this connection he draws the attention of the Court to the R.O.R. under Annexure-1 as well as the Notification of the Government of Orissa in Revenue and Disaster Management No. RDM-LAANGH-0041-2017/27020 dated 18.8.2017 issued by the Joint Secretary to the Government under Anexure-2 series covering L.A. Case No. 97 of 2016. According to him since the R.O.R. clearly reveals the name of the petitioner along with two of her brothers, the petitioner is entitled to one third of the compensation. He further submits that though highlighting all her grievances the petitioner has approached the Zonal Officer

// 2 // Land Acquisition, Khurda Road-Balangir Broad Gauge Rail Link in the district of Nayagarh (opposite party No.5) on 19.8.2021 by filing a representation vide Annexure-6, however, till date nothing has been done in the matter. In such background, he prays that a direction be issued to the said opposite party to take a decision on the above noted representation within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Zonal Officer Land Acquisition, Khurda RoadBalangir Broad Gauge Rail Link in the district of Nayagarh (opposite party No.5) to take a decision on the above noted representation of the petitioner under Annexure-6 in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of production of a certified copy of this order after giving reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as opposite party Nos. 6 to 10.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. 6.

Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
