This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement (Virtual /Physical Mode).

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners as well as learned counsel for the State. Perused the record.

The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioners with the following prayers:

"It is therefore, prayed that your Lordship's be graciously pleased:

And Issue of an appropriate Writ of like nature and Direction(s) or Order(s) directing the Opp. Parties to promote the Petitioners, who are DDT passed constables, to the next promoted rank i.e. Lance Naik or Havildar as the case may be;

And Pass any other order or orders as this Court deem fit and proper in the interest of justice;"

It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that issues involved in the present writ petition, the same issue is also involved in W.P.(C) No.26046 of 2022 and W.P.(C) No.26047 of 2022, which

// 2 // have been disposed of by this Court vide judgment dated 07.12.2022. 5.

It is further submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that the case of the petitioners is squarely covered under the judgment passed by this Court in the above noted writ petitions i.e. W.P.(C) No.26046 of 2022 and W.P.(C) No.26047 of 2022. 6.

Considering the submissions made and the issues involved in the present writ petition is similar to the above noted writ petitions and the present writ petition is disposed of in the light of the law laid down in the case of Trilochan Naik vrs. State of Odisha and others : decided on 07.12.2022. Accordingly, the Opposite Parties are directed to take a decision in the present case keeping in view the judgment passed in the case of Trilochan Naik (supra) within a period of six weeks from the date of production certified copy of this order. Any decision so taken on the case shall be communicated to the petitioners within a period of two weeks thereafter. 7.

With the aforesaid observation/direction, the writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
