This matter is taken up through video conferencing mode. 2.
Heard Mr. N.P.Patra, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. D.K.Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel. 3.
At the outset on oral prayer of Sri Patra, he is permitted to carry out the corrections in name of petitioner No.4 and implead State of Orissa as opposite party No.7 in Court today. 4.
According to Mr. Patra, the petitioners are aggrieved by non-opening of procurement center at Salipur Chandradeipur Co-operative Society for purchasing their paddy as a result of which they are being greatly harassed. He submits that the last date for procurement as fixed by the Government is 31.3.2022. Though highlighting their grievances, the petitioners have approached the Collector, Cuttack (opposite party No.2) on 23.2.2022 by filing a representation vide Annexure-4 and though opposite party No.2 has forwarded such representation to Secretary, Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Department, Bhubaneswar (opposite party No.1) vide letter No. 825 dated 4.3.2022 to consider the grievances of the petitioners however, till date nothing has been done in the matter. // 2 // background, he prays that a direction be issued to the opposite party No.1 to take a decision on the above noted representation within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Secretary, Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Department, Bhubaneswar (opposite party No.1) to take a decision on the above noted representation of the petitioners in accordance with law within a period of one week from the date of production of a certified copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to petitioner No.1 who in turn is directed to share such information with other petitioners. 6.
Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. 7.
Urgent certified copy of this order be granted in course of the day.
