This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement. 2.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State.

According to learned counsel for the petitioner, the grievance of the petitioner in this case pertains to nonregistration of his complaint dated 12.12.2022 under Annexure-1 as F.I.R. by I.I.C., Balichandrapur Police Station (opposite party no.3). As no action has been taken, the petitioner has approached the Superintendent of Police, Jajpur (opposite party no.2) by sending a copy of the complaint through Registered Post. But till date, nothing has been done. In such background, he prays that necessary direction be issued to the opposite party no.2 to take a

// 2 // decision on the said grievance petition within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs petitioner to approach the I.I.C., Balichandrapur Police Station (opposite party no.3) physically along with a fresh complaint along with a copy of this order within a period of seven days. In the event, such a motion is made, the said I.I.C. is directed to take a decision on the said complaint in accordance with law keeping in the mind the decision of the Supreme Court in the case of Lalita Kumari v. Govt. of U.P. & Others1, if a cognizable case is made out. 5.

The CRLMP is accordingly disposed of.

Issue urgent certified copy of this order on proper application.
