This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement (Virtual /Physical Mode).

The sole grievance of the Petitioner is that although he has preferred an appeal against the Departmental Proceeding before the appellate authority, i.e. Director General of Police, Odisha on 10.02.2021, the same has not yet been considered. In such view of the matter, learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that in the event a direction is given to the appellate authority to consider and dispose of the appeal of the Petitioner within a stipulated period of time, then his grievance shall be redressed.

Learned Additional Standing Counsel has no objection in the event this Court directs the authorities to dispose of the appeal within a stipulated period of time.

Considering the aforesaid submissions and the limited nature of grievance of the Petitioner, this Court directs the Director General of Police to consider and dispose of the appeal pending before him as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of three months
// 2 // from the date of production of certified copy of this order. 5.
It is further made clear that in the event the appellate authority feels it necessary that the Petitioner will be heard then opportunity of hearing be provided to the Petitioner while considering the appeal of the Petitioner.

With the aforesaid observation, the writ application is disposed of.
