1. The petitioner is stated to have surrendered the license in respect of Balikhand Country Liquor Shop in the district of Balasore since 21st February, 2022. The same application for surrender of license is stated to be pending before the Collector, Balasore-Opposite Party No.3 under Annexure-1. In such background he prays that a direction be issued to Opposite Party No.3 to take a decision on the same within a specified period.
2. Regard being had to the facts and submissions and the nature of relief sought for, the writ petition is disposed of directing the Collector, Balasore-Opposite Party No.3 to take a decision on the application of the petitioner under Annexure-1 for surrender of license within a period of two months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order in accordance with law.
3. It is made clear that, till a decision is taken, no coercive action shall be taken against the petitioner so far as his other shops are concerned.
4. Issue urgent certified copy of this order as per Rules.
5. A free copy of this order be supplied to the learned Addl. Government Advocate for compliance.
