1. This matter is taken up through hybrid arrangement.

2. Heard.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was working as Senior Clerk in the office of the then D.I. of Schools, Balasore-I. However, a departmental proceeding was initiated against him for misappropriation of Government money, and was concluded on 24.03.2021. The period of suspension from 28.05.1998 to 16.10.2000 of the petitioner was treated as such for all purpose. Being aggrieved by such order, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the opposite party No.2- Director of Elementary Education, Odisha, Bhubaneswar. Such appeal is pending before the opposite party No.2 since 22.07.2021. Learned counsel for the petitioner also submits that since the petitioner is at his advanced age of 74 years, opposite party No.2- Director of Elementary Education, Odisha, Bhubaneswar be directed to dispose of the appeal of the petitioner within the time to be stipulated by this Court.

4. In such view of the matter, the opposite party No.2- Director of Elementary Education, Odisha, Bhubaneswar is directed to

// 2 // dispose of the appeal of the petitioner by passing a reasoned order within a period of two months from the date of production/presentation of a certified copy of this order along with a copy of this writ petition.

5. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of.

6. Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
