This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement Order No.

(Virtual/Physical Mode).

Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner and learned counsel for the State.

It is submitted by learned counsel for the Petitioner that as against the order of punishment, Petitioner has preferred an appeal and it is stated that the same is pending since 7.1.2018 and no decision has been taken on the appeal filed by the Petitioner. Learned counsel for the Petitioner further submits that a direction may be issued to the Appellate Authority to dispose of the Appeal within a stipulated period of time after providing opportunity of hearing to the Petitioner.

Learned counsel for the State on the other hand submits that he has no objection if a direction is given to the Appellate Authority to dispose of the Appeal within a stipulated period of time.

Considering the submissions made, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, disposes of the writ petition directing the concerned Appellate Authority to consider the Appeal of the Petitioner and dispose of the same within a period of three months from the date of production of certified copy of this order. Further, it is made clear that the Appellate Authority shall provide opportunity of hearing to the Petitioner-Appellant. The decision taken on the Appeal be communicated to the Petitioner within a period of two weeks thereafter.

With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of.
