1. It is a matter of some concern that the issue of child trafficking, highlighted in this petition filed in 2013, has not been followed up by the Petitioner for over seven years. This raises a serious doubt whether the Petitioner is at all serious about the issue.

2. Further, the reliefs prayed for are so broad and sweeping that it would be impossible for the Court to pass any effective orders, the implementation of which can be monitored. A serious PIL Petitioner has to do home work, point out concrete instances and ensure that the petition is taken up at regular, short intervals so that the issue can be tackled effectively. A lackadaisical PIL petitioner does great disservice to the cause.

3. Permitting the Petitioner to file a fresh petition setting out concrete instances of the malaise, and accounting for all the steps

taken in the meanwhile by the Governments at the Centre and the State to tackle the issue, the writ petition is disposed of.
