Heard Mr. P. Bhutia, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. D.K. Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel. 2.

According to Mr. Bhutia, the petitioner is aggrieved by the incorrect recording of the name of her daughter by the Registrar, Birth and Death, Cuttack Municipal Corporation (opposite party No.2). 3.

Mr. D.K. Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel submits that for the said purpose, the petitioner should have approached the opposite party No.2 in the background of the provisions of law as contained in Section 15 of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 read with Rule-11 of the Odisha Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 2001. In such background, the petitioner is permitted to approach the opposite party No.2 for redressal of her grievances.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. 5.
