The writ petition has been filed by the petitioner with the following prayer:- "It is, therefore, humbly prayed that this Hon'ble Court may graciously be pleased to issue Rule Nisi calling upon the Opp. Parties to show cause as to why the impugned order dt. 25.01.2010 under Annexure-14 and the subsequent notification dt. 02.02.2010 and the selection and appointment of the Opp. Party No.4 as Professor in Economics under Annexure-4 & 5 shall not be quashed and as to why they shall not be directed to have a fresh evaluation of all the candidates afresh by the selection committee in respect of teaching experience, research publications and viva voce test and further be pleased to direct the authorities/ Opp. Parties to appoint the petitioner as Professor in Economics in North Orissa University and on perusal of causes shown if any or

// 2 // upon insufficient causes shown make the said rule absolute and may pass such other order/orders as deemed just and proper.

Mr. Sangram Senapati, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr. Manoj Kumar Mishra, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that due to efflux of time, the writ petition has become infructuous.
