Heard Mr. S.K. Nayak-2, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. D.K. Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel. 2.

According to Mr. Nayak, the petitioner is aggrieved by nonpayment of compensation though parts of Plot Nos. 142, 143, 146/1355 pertaining to Khata No. 149/70 of Mouza-Habaleswar under Hatadihi Tahasil in the district of Keonjhar have been acquired by the Government for the purpose of constructing Anandapur River Embankment Project.

During course of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that liberty may be granted to the petitioner to file a representation before the Land Acquisition Officer, Kanpur, Keonjhar (sole Opposite Party) for redressal of his grievances. He further submits that the said Opposite Party be directed to take a

decision on the same within a specific time period. 4.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court grants liberty to the petitioner to file a comprehensive representation before the Land Acquisition Officer, Kanpur, Keonjhar (sole Opposite Party) within a period of two weeks from today along with a copy of this order through Registered Post. In the event such a representation is filed before the said Opposite Party, he is directed to take a decision on the same in accordance with law within a period of six months from the date of receipt of such representation and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner. 5.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. 6.
