1. The status report filed by Opposite Party No.1 by way of an affidavit dated 3rd October, 2018 shows inter alia that 345 Assistant Surgeons joined in the year 2012-13, 13 in 2013-14, 51 in 2014-15, 334 in 2016-17 and 501 in 2017-18. A requisition was sent to the OPSC on 3rd October, 2017 for recruitment of 2173 Assistant Surgeons. It is stated that the process of submitting fresh requisition to the OPSC for filling up of remaining of vacancies is an ongoing exercise.

2. The Court is already dealing with the issue of filling up of the vacancies in the Public Health System in a separate Public Interest Litigation brought to the Court by Shri Chita Ranjan Mohanty being W.P.(C) No.6109 of 2018, which is pending in this Court and listed on 10th August, 2022. The remaining issues, if any, can be dealt with in that writ petition.
