Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Addl. Standing Counsel for the State.

The petitioner is in custody in connection with Pattamundai P.S. Case No.393 of 2021 corresponding to G.R. Case No.393 of 2021 pending in the Court of learned J.M.F.C., Pattamundai for the alleged commission of offence under Sections 498-A/304-B/306/34 of IPC read with Section 4 of DP Act.

The petitioner is the husband of the deceased. It is alleged that the petitioner along with his family members treated the deceased to cruelty in connection with demand for dowry. It is also alleged that the deceased was frequently tortured by her husband and in-laws, due to which she committed suicide by pouring kerosene and setting herself on fire. 5.
Considering the severity of allegations and the existence of materials prima facie in support thereof, I am not inclined to allow the prayer for bail, which is therefore, rejected. 6.
