This matter is taken up through hybrid arrangement (virtual/physical mode).

The claim of the petitioner, being a purchaser from the original lessee of homestead land, for settlement in his favour permanently as per Section 3(4) of the Orissa Government Land Settlement Act, 1962 was disposed of by this Court vide order dated 05.10.2020 in the writ bearing W.P.(C) No.23503 of 2020 filed by the petitioner, directing the Collector, Puri to dispose of the pending BPL Case No.01 of 2016 after affording opportunity of hearing within three months of the order.
3. Since the timeline was not adhered to, hence the present contempt.

4. Upon notice, a compliance affidavit dated 30.08.2022 has been filed annexing a detailed order dated 19.08.2022 deciding the claim of the petitioner, thereby complying the directions passed by this Court albeit belatedly.
5. At the time of hearing, Mr. Mishra concedes that the present contempt has become infructuous as the petitioner has a liberty to challenge the order dated 19.08.2022.
6. In view of the above, the contempt proceedings are dropped and the CONTC is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to pursue his remedy against the order dated 19.08.2022 in accordance with law.
