Heard Mr. Rout, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel. 2.
According to Mr. Rout, the petitioner is aggrieved by nonregistration of his F.I.R. i.e. Baramba P.S. Case No. 69 dated 8.3.2022 under the appropriate provisions of law. According to him the F.I.R. should also have been registered under the appropriate provisions under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 in the facts and circumstances of the case. He further submits that though highlighting his grievances the petitioner has filed a grievance petition dated 15.3.2022 under Annexure-2 series before the Superintendent of Police, Cuttack (opposite party No.2) which was sent through registered post on the same date but till date nothing has been done in the matter. In such background he prays that a direction be issued to opposite party No.2 to take a decision on the grievance petition under Annexure-2 series within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Superintendent of Police, Cuttack (opposite party No.2) to take a decision on the grievance petition under Annexure-2 series in accordance with law within a period of three weeks and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner.

Accordingly, this CRLMP is disposed of.

Urgent certified copy of the order be granted on proper application.
