Heard Mr.K.C.Sahu, learned counsel for the Petitioner as well as Mr.P.K.Parhi, learned Deputy General Solicitor of India. 3.
The present writ application has been filed by the Petitioner with a prayer for a direction to Opposite Party Nos. 2 & 3 to issue appointment letter in favour of the Petitioner as Constable (GD) I S.S.B. pursuant to final select list and merit list under Annexure-9 and 10 within a stipulated period of time.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the Petitioner that pursuant to an advertisement for selection of candidates to the post of Constable (G.D.), SSB in Central Armed Police Forces, NIA & SSF & Rifleman (G.D.) in Assam Rifles (A.R.) Examination 2018 the Petitioner appeared. He further submits that after going through rigorous selection process, the Petitioner along with others were selected and a final select-cum-merit list was prepared by the
// 2 // Opposite Parties which has been filed as Annexure-9 and 10. Under Annexure-10 a final merit list was prepared wherein the name of the Petitioner finds place. It is submitted by the leaned counsel for the Petitioner that the Petitioner stood first in the said select list. This merit list was stated to have been published sometime in February, 2020. However, the sole grievance of the Petitioner is that despite his name has been included in the merit list he has not been issued with appointment letter till date. It is further submitted by the learned counsel for the Petitioner that similarly situated candidates applied for other State has already given appointment. In such view of the matter, learned counsel for the Petitioner seeks for a direction to finalise the matter and issue appointment letter to the Petitioner. 5.
Mr.Parhi, learned D.S.G.I. submits that he received instruction that process of selection is going on. Since the verification of candidates and their signatures taken a long time, no decision has been taken by the authority as yet and process is on and completed very shortly.

Considering such submissions, this Court is of the opinion that there is no meaning in keeping the matter pending before this Court. Accordingly the same is disposed of at the stage of admission by directing the authorities to expedite the process of verification and subject to such verification the entire process of selection be taken to its logical conclusion and necessary appointment orders in respect of validly selected candidates subject to verification of their documents and order of appointment be issued within a period of two months from the date of production of certified copy of this order. In the event it is found that during verification there are any discrepancies or error then it is open for the authority to do the needful in accordance with law and they will not be bound by this order.
// 3 // Further, the Petitioner is directed to cooperate with the departmental authority in the process of verification and provide all necessary assistance including the relevant documents and shall appear before the departmental authority in person as and when required. 7.
With the aforesaid observation and direction the writ application is disposed of.
