Heard Mr. Suhail, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. D. Nayak, learned Additional Government Advocate. 2.

At the outset, on oral prayer of Mr. Suhail, the present writ petition is only confined to Rina Rani Das (petitioner No.1). So far as other petitioners are concerned, they are granted liberty to file separate writ applications.

According to Mr. Suhail, the petitioner No.1 is aggrieved by the inaction of the authorities more particularly, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (opposite party No.3) in supplying her a ration card though application for the same submitted by her on 13.02.2021 under Annexure-1 series was duly acknowledged. He submits that on account of non-supply of the ration card, the petitioner No.1, who belongs to a lower strata of society is facing lot of difficulties in making both ends meet. In such background, he prays that a direction be issued to opposite party No.3 to take a decision on such application within

// 2 // a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (opposite party No.3) to take a decision on the application of the petitioner No.1 in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to petitioner No.1. 5.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. 6.

Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application in course of the day.
