1. Learned counsel appearing for the Puri Municipality states that without prior approval of the State Government, the case of the Petitioner for consideration of renewal of the lease cannot be considered.

2. In that view of the matter, it is directed that the Petitioner's application for renewal of the lease will be considered by the Collector, Puri in his capacity as Representative of the State of Orissa as well as Chairman of the Puri Municipality after taking necessary instruction from the State Government, and affording opportunity of hearing to the Petitioner in accordance with Section 3 of the Orissa Government Land Settlement Act. The Collector, Puri will, thereafter pass a reasoned order not later than 2nd May, 2022, which shall be communicated to the Petitioner by 9th May, 2022.

3. The Petitioner will appear before the Collector on 7th March, 2022 and produce a downloaded copy of this order. If the Petitioner is aggrieved by the order of the Collector, Puri, it would be open to the Petitioner to seek appropriate remedies as may be available to him in accordance with law.

4. The deposit of rent made in this Court will be subject to the order passed by the Collector pursuant to this order.
