This matter is taken up through Video Conferencing Mode.

Heard Mr. Sahoo, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. Dhal, learned Additional Government Advocate. 3.
According to Mr. Sahoo, the petitioners are aggrieved by the inaction of the Director (R & R) & Ex-Officio Additional Secretary to Government, Department of Water Resources, Odisha (opposite party No.2) in extending them the benefits under the Odisha Resettlement and Rehabilitation Policy, 2006 on account of submergence of their lands in Lower Indra Irrigation Project, Khariar in the district of Nuapada. 4.
Mr. Dhal submits that for such purposes, the petitioners should have approached the opposite party No.2 so that their grievances can be redressed. In such background, Mr. Sahoo submits that liberty may be granted to the petitioners to move the opposite party No.2 by filing a grievance petition and the said opposite be directed to take a decision on such motion
// 2 // within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merit of the case, this Court grants liberty to the petitioner to file a comprehensive grievance petition before opposite party No.2 within a period of two weeks from today along with a copy of this order. In the event, such grievance petition is received by opposite party No.2, he/she is directed to take a decision on the same in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of such grievance petition and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner No.1, who in turn shall share such information with petitioner No.2.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. 7.
Parties may utilize the soft copy of this order available in the High Court's Website or print out thereof at par with certified copy in the manner prescribed vide Office Order dated 7th January, 2022.
