Mr. S. Nayak, learned Additional Standing Counsel brings notice to this Court that during pendency of this writ petition the petitioner has already retired from service. It is contended that since the petitioner claims for promotion and he was not holding the promotional post, the relief sought cannot be granted to him. Therefore, the writ petition has become infructuous. 4.

In view of the above submission, the writ petition stands disposed of as infructuous.
