1. This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

2. Mr. S. Satapathy, learned counsel appears on instruction of Mr.S.K.Barik, learned counsel for the petitioner.

3. Mrs. S. Pattnaik, learned Additional Government Advocate appears for the State and submits that according to the First Information Report, the younger brother of the petitioner, namely, Sandip Kumar Das is missing since November,1995. After twenty seven years of such missing, the petitioner filed the First Information Report (F.I.R.) to the Inspector-in-Charge of Lalbag Police Station, Cuttack on 29th March,2022. Based on the said First Information Report, this petition has been filed for issuance of writ of Habeas Corpus alleging that the police has not conducted the investigation appropriately to search out his brother.

4. We are really surprised that the concern for the brother has surfaced after long twenty seven years. Be that as it may, since an F.I.R. has been filed to the police, the police shall investigate and bring an end to such investigation.

5. Having observed thus, it is directed that the opposite party no.4-Inspector-in-charge, Lalbag Police Station, Cuttack shall complete the investigation within short while and file the final report. A copy of such report be supplied to the petitioner.

6. In terms of the above, the writ petition stands disposed of.
