Heard Mr. Sarangi, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel. 2.

According to Mr. Sarangi, the petitioner is aggrieved by the manner in which investigation is going on in connection with Athagarh P.S. Case No.254 dated 10.11.2021 registered for commission of offences under Sections 341, 294, 323, 379, 506,/34 I.P.C. read with Sections 25 & 27 of the Arms Act, 1959 and Section 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s) & 3(2)(va) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. He further submits that though highlighting all his grievances the petitioner has approached the Superintendent of Police, Cuttack (opposite party No2) on 5.4.2022 under Annexure-2 by filing petition and though receipt of the same has been duly acknowledged however till date nothing has been in the matter. In such background he prays that a direction be issued to opposite party No.2 to take a decision on the petition under Annexure-2 within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Superintendent of Police, Cuttack (opposite party No.2) to take a decision on the said petition in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner.

Accordingly, this CRLMP is disposed of.

Urgent certified copy of the order be granted on proper application.
