This matter is taken up through Hybrid arrangement (video conferencing/physical mode). Heard Mr. P.C. Jena, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs. Saswata Pattnaik, learned Addl. Government Advocate for the State.

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner Ananta Kumar Patra with a prayer to cause production/rescue of his minor daughter.

The matter was called in the first hour, learned Addl. Government Advocate for the State was asked to ensure the appearance of the Inspector-in-Charge of Bhogarai Police Station before this Court through virtual mode and the matter was directed to be taken up at 11.30 a.m.

Learned Addl. Government Advocate for the State on instruction submitted that the victim minor girl has already been rescued since 6th June 2022 and as she was not interested to go to her parents place, she has been kept in a short-stay home, namely, Kasturuba Narisangha, Balasore.

Considering the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner and the instruction received by the learned Addl. Government Advocate for the State, since at present there is no illegal detention of the minor daughter of the petitioner, the writ petition has become infructuous and accordingly the same stands disposed of as such.
