Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State.

The petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction of opposite parties in appointing him under the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme. It is submitted that the petitioner's father while working as Assistant Teacher in a primary School died in harness on 01.03.2018. Therefore, the petitioner submitted an application seeking compassionate appointment under the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme on 14.07.2018.

As it appears, this application was forwarded by the Block Education Officer, Khariar to the District Education Officer, Nuapada on 02.08.2018 copy of which is enclosed as Annexure-5 to the Writ Petition. It is further submitted that no action has been taken on such application till date.

Considering the fact that the application is pending for nearly four years with the Competent Authority, the Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to District Education Officer, Nuapada (O.P. No.3) take a decision thereon in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of production of copy of this order.

Issue urgent certified copy as per rules.
