Mr. S.P. Mishra, learned Senior Advocate enters appearance on behalf of the Petitioner by filing a memo of appearance in Court, which is taken on record.

The Petitioner in this writ petition prays for a direction to extend the period of contract to run Beverage Centre in the premises of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar till March, 2023. 4.
Mr. Mishra, learned Senior Advocate appearing for the Petitioner submits that pursuant to an auction notice, the Petitioner was found suitable and awarded with a contract to run a Beverage Centre in the premises of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar vide order dated 13th September, 2017 under Annexure-1. Due to cyclone of FANI as well as pandemic of COVID-19, the Petitioner prayed for extension of his contract, which was considered by the authorities and contract was extended for a period of four months with effect from 1st March, 2022 vide letter dated 18th April, 2022 under
// 2 // Annexure-5. Since the Petitioner has suffered a huge loss due to the aforesaid unforeseen calamities, he again applied for extension of contract at least till March, 2023 to compensate the loss by making a representation dated 2nd May, 2022 to the authorities under Annexure-7, which is still pending and no decision has yet been taken on the same. He further submits that interest of justice will be best served, if a decision is taken on the same prior to completion of the extended period of contract, i.e. prior to 30th June, 2022.

Taking into consideration the submission made by Mr. Mishra, learned Senior Advocate appearing for the Petitioner, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case disposes of this writ petition with a direction to the Director, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar-Opposite Party No.1 to consider and dispose of the representation of the Petitioner dated 2nd May, 2022 under Annexure-7 as expeditiously as possible preferably by the end of 30th June, 2022 and communicate the order to the Petitioner. Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
