This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

The grievance of the Petitioner in this writ petition is with regard to non-consideration of his case for promotion to the post of Forester.

It is submitted by Mr. Mohanty, learned counsel that the Petitioner joined the service as Forest Guard in the year, 2007. In the gradation list prepared on 4th December, 2021 under Annexure-3, his name finds place at Sl.No. 32. Although persons junior to him were considered for promotion to the post of Forester, but the case of the Petitioner is ignored. Hence, this writ petition has been filed for redressal of his grievances, as aforesaid. 4.

In course of hearing, Mr. Mohanty, learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that interest of justice will be best served, if the Petitioner makes a representation to the Regional Chief Conservator of Forests, Angul Circle-Opposite Party No. 2 for consideration of his case for promotion to the post of Forester and in that event, a direction may be made to take a decision on the same expeditiously.

Mr. Mohapatra, learned Additional Standing Counsel does not have any objection to the same.

Taking into consideration the innocuous nature of the prayer made by Petitioner, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case of the Petitioner disposes of this writ petition with a direction that in the event the Petitioner makes a comprehensive representation for consideration of his case for promotion to the post of Forester within a period of two weeks hence along with certified copy of this order, the Regional Chief Conservator of Forests, Angul Circle-Opposite Party No. 2 shall do well to consider the same in accordance with law and pass a reasoned order thereon as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months therefrom.

Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
