Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State.

The petitioner is in custody since 23.05.2022 in connection with Angul Sadar P.S. Case No. 722 of 2021 corresponding to G.R. Case No. 1604 of 2021 pending in the court of learned S.D.J.M., Angul for the alleged commission of offence under Sections 498(A)/304(B)/306/34 of IPC read with Section 4 of the D.P. Act.

The petitioner is the father-in-law of the deceased, who is said to have committed suicide after being subjected to cruelty in connection with demand for dowry. The deceased committed suicide in her parental home. Taking note of such fact, a coordinate Bench of this Court has already granted bail to one

Basanti Pradhan who is the mother-in-law of the deceased as per order passed in BLAPL No.2049 of 2022.

Considering the above facts as also the period of detention in custody, I am inclined to allow the prayer for bail. Let the petitioner be released on bail on such terms and conditions as the Court in seisin over the matter may deem fit and proper to impose including the condition that he shall personally appear before the trial Court on each date of posting of the case without fail. 6.

The BLAPL is accordingly disposed of.
