This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement (Virtual /Physical Mode).

Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner, learned Addl. Standing Counsel for the State and Mr. Gokulananda Padhi, learned counsel.

The principal allegation against the present Petitioner is that, he is a builder and he has taken money from the Informant promising to provide a plot, but he has not provided any plot to the Informant as per the agreement entered into between the parties. Allegations made in the F.I.R. are more serious in nature. 4.

Considering the fact that the victim is a lady and, in such view of the matter, and since both the parties are willing to settle the matter amicably among them, this Court directs both the parties to appear before the Orissa High Court Mediation Centre on 08.08.2022. On their appearance, the Secretary, Mediation Centre of

// 2 // the Orissa High Court shall provide a trained Mediator to the parties who shall take appropriate action to amicably settle the matter between the parties.

In view of the aforesaid direction, this Court thinks it proper and directs the police not to arrest the Petitioner till 22.08.2022 in connection with Cuttack Sadar P.S. Case No.277 of 2022 corresponding to G.R. Case No.1571 of 2022 pending in the Court of learned J.M.F.C. (R), Cuttack. Further, such interim protection to the Petitioner is subject to the condition that the Petitioner shall not threaten, harass or terrorize the Informant or the family members of the Informant in any manner whatsoever.

List this matter on 22nd August, 2022. The report of the Mediator shall be produced before this Court by the next date. 7.
